 ☽Branding & Production companies☽

Branding! It is one of the most important aspects of almost anything. When you create a piece of media and you want to sell or have that media become its own thing you need to have branding on point. Something that shows the tone of your piece of media(in this case film) and that when someone looks at it they go "A-HA! That's a film by.." For example Tim Burton, You look at any of the films he has directed and you can tell it was him directing. He has that gothic aesthetic and his branding is always consistent no matter if it's a live-action film or clay animation. Not only is his aesthetic branding consistent but so are his actors like Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, and Christopher Lee. You see him work with these actors all the time to the point that when you see them you think "Ah a Tim Burton film!" This is s form of branding so for my film I want to have a specific look that will match the theme of the witches and will be easily pointed out by someone. I've made a mood board showing what my branding would look like.

Now let's talk about production! So for a production company, I chose Dark Dunes Production because they focus on fantasy movies and movies that have more gothic aesthetics! They are an indie company which some may think could limit the budget but my film doesn't really need a big budget, to begin with, and I feel that when you work with an indie company they put their all into their movies and it made with care instead of a big company who is just in it for the money and not the art of film making. They have also worked on films like "Yamasong: March of the hollows" and "Kids VS Monsters" both fantasy films with dark gothic undertones. Choosing an indie production company though does affect how my audience will engage with my film: For one I will most likely have to put my film to watch on a streaming platform instead of in movie theaters but nowadays more people prefer to watch on a streaming service in the comfort of their own home rather than going to a theater. Also, there are many people who rather watch indie films rather than a big production one, and that creates a very loyal fanbase. 

                                           

Now the hard part comes in convincing this production company to make my film! But because my film is in their go-to genre and a concept that can create a big fanbase of young people who will undoubtedly share with their friends spreading the movie to many different people. So overall having a concept that is solid and relatable will be good to catch this company's attention.
